Making a Difference :D

Hi my name is Ameera and I want to share one way EVERYONE can make a difference. We can all make a difference in this world by reducing what we waste. Do not buy unnesscary things and and things you dont really need but want. Instead of throwing your things away, you could consider the thought of donating it to people and organizations. Whatever you waste, will damage the earth. Another way you can make a difference is by not using plastic bottles. Billions of plastic bottles are discarded each year. Plastic cannot be disintegrated. Instead of buying and wasting plastic bottles, you could buy one bottle made of steel. These are some ways of making a difference to this world.

7th Grade Feedback

Please answer the following questions as thoroughly as you can.

1. What piece of work and learning are you most proud? Explain.

I am most proud of my diary entry that I wrote in 6th Grade. I worked hard in researching the information about my role in Ancient Egypt. I also had the opportunity to write about and create my own person. I got the chance to write about my own life as a scribe in Ancient Egypt. I really enjoy making up my own stories.

2. What were your greatest challenges? Explain.

My greatest challenges was probably getting my homework done on time. I found out in 6th Grade that it was really challenging for me to remember to finish my homework in time and remembering what the assignments were. I also had a bit of a hard time maintaining my grades.

3. Reflecting on your growth this year, what did you learn about yourself as a learner?

I learned that I have become more organized based on my locker and I also learned that I should try to go above and beyond. I should never leave anything to the last minute and I also should write my homework down.

4. To evaluate your work habits, choose 1 of the following from each category ( and provide explanations):

a) Behavior

Could be improved
Satisfactory=√
Perfect - the model student

Explanation: I am also behaving in class and I do not mess around in class. There is one thing that I need to work on for my behaviour which is turning my work in. I still need to work on turning my assignments in on time.

b) Participation

None=√
Satisfactory
Actively participate in class

Explanation: I do not actively participate and I really want to work on my participation next year in 7th grade. I am not that confident in sharing my ideas and opinions.

c) Organization

Needs serious help
Satisfactory
I'm super organized=√

Explanations:I enjoy cleaning my lockers and sometimes it just drives me crazy if anything is not organized. However, I think I should also improve on organizing my homeowork.

d) Effort

Needs serious help
Satisfactory=√
I always go above and beyond what is required.

Explanation: Sometimes I do go above and beyond but usually I dont. I always try do my very best that I can do but I think I could still improve in 7th Grade!

5. Based upon your reflections, write two personal learning goals for Grade 7 next year.

Goal 1 - In Grade 7, I plan to always finish my homework and always go above and beyond when I am completing my assignments.

Goal 2 - In Grade 7, I plan to participate in all of my classes and be more confident in sharing my ideas and opinions.

6.Is there any more information about yourself that you would like the teachers to know?

I like to have clear directions and I think I would like it if teachers could help me in participating more in class.

MALAYSIA WEEK: Pulau Sibu

Last week was one of the most splendid week I've ever had. I had an amazing trip to Pulau Sibu which means "Island of the Dead Chicken" (I am really not sure why the island is called by that name). I started my journey by taking the 7:30 bus. The bus ride was about 7 hours!! During the bus ride I was singing millions of songs with my best friend, Rionna. I was also eating biscuits during the ride. When we stopped at a stall my friends and I decided to go the shop and buy candy and chocolate. Just as I ate my last piece of candy, we finally arrived at the dock. The boat splashed through the sea as it arrived to the dock. I was filled with joy to know that we were finally almost there!

Cautiously, I hopped into the boat. The boat ride was a very bouncy ride. We were all screaming as the boat bounced on the waves. Finally we arrived at the island. The sea was blue and beautiful. I could feel the breeze as I walked into my chalet.

In the first day of Pulau Sibu, my tribe and I built totem poles and then we went into the sea to enjoy the waves. Then we finally had our dinner which was fried fish and rice. It was really delicious!. In the second day had a scavenger hunt and the prize was 100 plus! I also went on my first jungle trek which was a very splendid experience. On the 3rd and 4th day we learned survivor skills which we used when we went to an island and had to build our own shelter and cook our own food. On the last day it was my birthday and I had a big chocolatey brownie for breakfast and sadly I had to leave Pulau Sibu:(.

I will never forget this amazing Malaysia Week!

On Spring Break I want to stay at home and enjoy free time. I also would want to travel some place that I have never been to.

Hope you enjoyed my peice of writing!
